The grand Chittorgarh Fort is located at a grand height of 180 meters over a hill. It also encloses an area of about 691.9 acres over the plains which are drained by Berach River. The highest elevation of this grand fort is placed at a height of 1075 meters and this exotic primeval monument is located by the side of the grand Berach River. There is a winding hill road which extends to a length of more than 1 kilometer and it mainly leads to the main gate of this primordial palace which is sited at the Western End. The fort comprises of a circular road which provides an easy access to all the main gates and monuments that are located within walls of this ancient landmark.

At the present, there are 22 water bodies that are well enhanced within the fort. These exotic water bodies are well fed through rainfall and natural catchment. These water bodies have a combined storage of more than 4 billion liters of water.
